PUMPKIN WITH NUTS Kabak Tatlisi
3 kilos pumpkin
1/2 kilo sugar
1/2 tea cup water
250 grams crushed or ground nuts
Cut the pumpkin into 10 x 3 cm. slices. Peel and wash. Put a layer of pumpkin in a saucepan, sprinkle with sugar, then second and third layers, sprinkling with sugar each time. Add the water. Cook 50 minutes on a very low heat and let cool. Place the pumpkin pieces with the juice on a serving plate and sprinkle with the crushed nuts.
