GREEN BEAN AND MEAT STEW Etli Fasulya Basti

1 kilo green beans
1/2 soup spoon salt
2 finely chopped onions
250 grams lamb chopped into small pieces
3 glasses meat broth or water
3 peeled, chopped tomatoes
3 soup spoons butter

In a saucepan, partially cook the meat in 2 soup spoons of butter for 4-5 minutes. Add and brown the onions. Add water and cook on a low heat for 25 - 30 minutes.

Place the washed green beans in a saucepan. (The Turkish cooks cut around the perimeter of the beans to remove the strings). Add a spoonful of butter and the chopped tomatoes. Cover and cook on a low heat for 20 - 25 minutes. Then over the beans, add the meat, onions and broth. Cover and cook approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. When ready, pour off any excess water, place on a serving platter and serve.
